Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger (Left), Captain America in The Avengers (Right)

I know that you’re not supposed to question these things because, well, Joss Whedon’s making the Avengers and this is Marvel’s baby…but this is clearly a downgrade, right? It looks like bad cosplay.

I dunno man, mooshoo’s kinda right. I mean I haven’t seen many clips of the Avengers yet but the costume from the First Avenger seems a little grittier, the shield isn’t so shiny and new, it’s scratched, it’s worn, battle tested. Like Cap from “The Ultimates”. The Modern suit definitely does look a lot sleeker, but it doesn’t have that battle hardened edge of his original suit. Still cool, but yeah, kinda like a bad cosplay.

Also, is it just me, or maybe the way Chris Evan’s is looking, but his jawline. Doesn’t look NEARLY as defined in the picture on the right, as it does on the left. I mean I know that Captain America: The First Avenger, is full of those old school, George Reeves styled square jawed heroics, full of that good ol’ fashioned BAM! POW! kinda action, but he just looks weaker in The Avengers. I don’t like that. His body even looks noticeably smaller as well. Something’s wrong.
